Plant 50 to 120 cm high. Flintton root, large bitter, aromatic. Oval, opposite, glabrous, green-glaucous leaves with secondary reticulated ribbing. Numerous yellow axillary flowers with corolla divided into 5 open lobes. Flower. : VI - VIII. It grows in high mountain pastures on calcareous soils.
